An extra English assignment.

Mom read the kids "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak, and then Aiden worked on a Pinterest worksheet and a mom-made one too. Minus the messy printing, he did well I think. I like this type of structure for book knowledge and think I will use it again.

Who is the main character? Max
What did the character want? to play
What was the problem? He was being bad.
How did the character solve the problem? No (he didn't)
What was the resolution? he ate his dinner

In the beginning... he got sent to his room.
In the middle... it was a jungle.
In the end... he was good again.
The characters... Max, Mum, Monsters.
The setting... a jungle.
The events... he was a monster.

Tuesday in town.

On Tuesday we went to Uncle Darin and Aunty Courtney's house. The kids had lots of fun making a gingerbread house and then painting wreaths...

Twelve Days of Reading.

We are doing some fun Christmas reading and have signed out twelve books from the library to lead up until Christmas Eve and then on Christmas we will read the Christmas story from our bible. Here's our book stack:

Looking Fine ;)

English and Math

English is continuing smoothly. In Math we are steady on, doing one section per week.

Aiden's supplementary printing book work.

Building with hundreds (and in an interesting get-up this day, haha).

Counting by hundreds and adding hundreds.

This month in Social Studies and Science

In Socials Aiden is working through the physical map of Canada. In Science he is exploring the senses.

Socials

Aiden's rendering's of regional landscapes....

I love how he adds things like the sun or a sunset....

Winter in the Arctic.

.....and the map that goes along with each day of learning.

 Science

Learning about bitter, sweet, salty, sour. We also did a blindfolded test to see if he could tell flavors by their smell, such as cinnamon, onion, salt, etc, and then he tasted them to classify which flavor they were.

The five sense- smell, taste, see, hear, feel.

Learning about parts of the eye. He had already been learning about this in one of his library books :)

This is the jungle sticker book that Aiden likes to work on when we need to change it up from the human body sometimes.

He has to find the stickers that match the animals or insects that he reads about.

Lots of interesting bugs.
